Hotel Terrace

The Hotel Terrace in Engelberg has a range of facilities for you to enjoy your stay, including the hotel bar 'Portico' with over 1000 varieties of gin, a conservatory with splendid mountain views, the 'Belle Epoque' restaurant, 'Cave' cheese cellar with fondue evenings (supplement applies), sauna/steam room, games room and free Wi-Fi throughout.

To soothe any weary muscles there are two wooden outdoor sauna barrels, 60 °C bio sauna, 90 °C (new since Jan 23) panorama sauna, three multi-sensory showers, traditional cooling-off shower and relaxing room.

SkiWeekends guests can book the Hotel Terrace with Breakfast Only or choose to upgrade to a Half Board Plus basis*, where you will enjoy breakfast, which consists of a hearty hot and cold buffet, and dinners are a 3-course buffet meal with a glass of house wine (red or white) included. Meals are taken in the hotel's restaurant from where you can enjoy magnificent views.

*Please note bookings over New Year are Half Board plus only. 

The Hotel Terrace is located on an elevated position, just North of the centre of Engelberg.

• Distance to piste: the hotel accommodation is 1km from the nearest lift. This can be reached on the free resort shuttle bus which conveniently stops 200m from the hotel.
• Distance to resort centre: the centre of Engelberg can be reached by 10 minutes on foot
• Distance to ski hire shop: the 4 Seasons Sport Shop is located on Dorfstrasse, close to the station. This is a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

There are 168 bedrooms at this sizeable hotel, standard rooms have twin beds, ensuite shower and WC, hairdryer, 32” flat TV with radio, telephone and safe.

Standard rooms in the main building are simply and practically furnished with views of Engelberg and the surrounding mountains.

Standard Twin Room - Simply and practically furnished, twin beds bathroom with shower and WC.  Approx 17m²

Standard Triple Room -  Spacious room with 1double bed and 1 single bed, bathroom with shower and WC.  Approx 25m²

Standard Quad Room - Spacious room with 4 single beds for families or small groups, bathroom with shower and WC.  Approx 30m²

Comfort rooms in the residence (connected to the main building) are simply furnished with coordinated colour schemes and are a great place to relax and unwind.  These rooms are installed with a shower heat recovery system than recovers up to 70% of the energy used, benefitting nature, and us.  They also feature sound proofed windows and doors, black out curtains and a workstation.

Comfort Twin Room - Twin beds, bathroom with rain shower and WC with bidet function.  Approx 18m²

Comfort Triple Room - Perfect for 3 people with comfortable twin beds and 1 extra single bed in a separate room.  Bathroom with rain shower and WC with bidet function  Approx 18m²

Comfort Family Unit - Perfect for families with 2 identical double rooms with connecting corridor and own entrance door, each room has a bathroom with rain shower and WC with bidet function.  Each room approx 18m².

Twins for single use on request, please note twin beds are the continental style with double bed frame containing 2 single mattress and sheets.

Resort tax is paid locally and is approximately CHF 3.20 per person, per day.

You can arrive any day at the Hotel Terrace with SkiWeekends, and there is a minimum 3 night stay, subject to seasonal variations.

Check In: available from 4pm.

Check Out: you will need to vacate your room by 11am.

There is free luggage storage prior to check-in on arrival day and after check-out on departure day with access to shower facilities.

The lift pass included in your holiday can be collected from hotel reception, and is valid from the day after arrival.

The best way to get the hotel is by train from Zurich Airport. Hop on a short 10 minute train journey to the main station in Zurich (Hauftbahnhof). From here, take the train to Lucern, where you'll change for a final time before reaching Engelberg. The total journey time is just over 2 hours.

Once you arrive in Engelberg, take a short 4-minute walk to the foot of the free tunnel-lift system that runs from the village up to the hotel, that takes 3 minutes.
