City-Ski

Innsbruck City Ski

How often do you fly into an airport and think:

“One day I’ll take a look at the city before I go to resort?”

The idea is simple; you can spend the day, or a night or two in the city and then go skiing! Perhaps try somewhere completely new for a really different weekend.

We have married the short city break with the short ski break and have carefully selected 7 cities and hotels which enable you to have a completely unique winter break...

Sangria and Snow

Fly into Granada, explore this fabulous historic city including the stunning Alhambra Palace. Take a nighttime tapas tour (you get a free tapas with every drink for under 3€) then stay the night. It's then just a half an hour up to Sierra Nevada at 3100M - it's snow-sure skiing and you can even see the Mediterranean Sea! The prices are unbelievably low, a great 3-course lunch will cost you just 10€! All very much wrapped up in the very happy 'Spanish fiesta' atmosphere.

Norwegian Experience

Stay in Oslo, explore this “art mad” city, take a cruise around the Fjord. You can take the 30-minute tram ride up to the Oslo Winter Park ski area which, whilst compact, is a great place to practice with stunning views of the fjord. You can try cross-country-skiing, ski the 40kms downhill or play in the snow park. Later go après mad in a tipi with the Norwegians late into the evening, or go back to the city to enjoy dinner in one of its many fantastic restaurants. Then head to Trysil, just two and a half hours away it’s a fantastic resort for all abilities, a real cultural indulgence for less than you might think. This is a great option for couples where one hasn’t skied before; they can have lessons in the Winter Park and ski just half days, enjoying the city too and then head off to a full-size ski resort which is not intimidating and experience the real thing!

Austrian Delight

Innsbruck is an archetypal Austrian city with a real mix of old and new, and with a wide choice of ski areas within an hour, you can stay in the city or in the resorts or even mix it up!

Nice & Isola

The famous French Riviera one day - you can even lie on the beach - then ski the sun-soaked mountains the next day, which are just an hour away.

Explore Geneva Days

Take the early flight in, leave your bags at the airport, then get a transfer after you’ve had lunch by the lake and wander around the old city.

Toulouse and Ax-Les-Thermes

This city is a cultural tour de force, there’s so much more to see than the Airbus museum. Then its just an hour to Ax-Les-Thermes; this is a charming Pyrenean village and the thermal baths are an absolute must. Skiing is truly pretty, and although it may not be vast, the runs are lovely and there is some fantastic off-piste-skiing!

These trips are great for those who want to explore somewhere new, a romantic getaway, maybe you just don’t want to ski all day, or perhaps it's your first time and you just want to give it a go without committing to a whole holiday.
