Restaurants in Alpe d'Huez
Places for Lunch
With a ski area this big, you’ve got so much choice for lunch on the mountain. Here are a few places to get you started:
La Folie Douce
At the top of the Marmottes lift, both skiers and non-skiers can head to the Folie Douce for bite to eat. There are two dining options to choose from. You can grab a quick bite La Petite Cuisine, which is a great value self-service restaurant that serves fresh dishes. Eat in their cosy dining room or outside on the south facing terrace. If you’re after more fine dining then head to La Fruitiere. Created by double Michelin-starred chef Christophe Aribert, the Fruitiere menu presents innovative interpretations of delicious local produce, all within a charming, dairy-themed decor.
The only issue with these restaurants is that you may find it hard to leave after lunch as the après ski at the Folie Douce begins at 14:00!
La Plage des Neiges
Located on the gentle slopes at the top of the DMC 1 gondola, the restaurant is easily accessible for skiers of all levels and pedestrians. Relax on the sunny terrace or in the deckchairs and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. The menu offers a variety of traditional French and European home-cooked dishes served in generous portions.
La Cabanet
A wooden chalet-style restaurant with a south-facing terrace, located at the top of the Romains ski lift in the Les Bergers ski area. This spot is renowned for its quick table service and traditional French cuisine.
Le Signal 2108
Le Signal offers a unique view of Alpe d’Huez and the surrounding mountains. Here you can enjoy a long lunch in the cost and warm first-floor restaurant, or grab a quick bite to eat at the self-service/fast food style restaurant downstairs.
Le Spot

Le Spot has a tasty selection of baguettes, paninis, burgers, chips, and their specialty—Indonesian Nasi Goreng (it’s delicious!).
