SKI Area

The 198km Gasteinertal ski area is seamlessly connected by an excellent public bus service, making Bad Hofgastein an ideal base for exploring the entire region. For beginners, there's a nursery area at Angertal, while intermediate skiers will enjoy the extensive terrain above the town, including the notable 10.5km red run from the top of the Hohe Scharte. For those seeking more of a challenge, the ski route on the Kreuzkogel mountain is a must-try.

Beginners
The gentle nursery slopes at Angertal provide an ideal starting point for beginners. Once they've gained confidence, they can move on to the blue runs on the Schlossalm or Stubnerkogel, which offer gradual progression and stunning views.

Intermediates
Bad Hofgastein is perfect for intermediates, offering a wide variety of red and blue runs. The interconnected ski areas of Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein create a large, diverse skiing area. Additionally, the Gastein valley includes three other ski areas, totaling 198km of well-groomed and often quiet pistes. Buses and trains conveniently link these areas, and all are covered by a single lift pass.

Advanced
For advanced skiers, there are some challenging runs on the Stubnerkogel and a couple of demanding blacks on the Graukogel. The off-piste opportunities are also excellent.
