ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS IN BRIDES LES BAINS
Situated at 600m Brides Les Bains is rarely the snow-covered resort you picture when you imagine a ski resort, but this has many advantages. There is a river, the River Doron, running through the resort that you can walk along and not have to worry about missing a step in the snow! By the Grand Hotel des Thermes, there is a bridge which you can cross to enter a park located on the river banks.
There is, of course, the spa in the Grand Hotel des Thermes. This used to be open to guests of the hotel only, however, there has since been new ownership of the spa which means it is now open to everyone for a fee of approximately 15euros. (Certainly, an ideal way to spend the day or even relax after a day on the slopes)
If walking along the river isn’t quite long enough for you then you can always purchase a pedestrian pass at the Olympe gondola and head up into Meribel where there are plenty of routes highlighted on the piste map (ask at the gondola for the pedestrian version if they do not give you one with your pass) and certain gondolas you can take so you can meet others for a mountainside lunch.
