PISTE MAP

SKI Area

Ski Area

  • Part of the Jungrau area with 214km of piste
  • Ski with a view of the big three – Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

On one side of town is ‘First’ which is Grindelwald’s own ski area and a great place for long cruisy red runs.  On the other side skiers can ski the rest of the 214km Jungfrau region with easy access to Kleine Scheidegg via mountain railway and the new Eiger Express tri-cable car, which whisks you up to the Eiger Glacier station in just 15 minutes.

Beginners

At the top of the village the ski school meeting point is at Bodmi Arena nursery slope and the wide blue runs of the First area are great for progression.  Over on Männlichen there is a specific slow slope for beginners.

Intermediates

With cruisy reds over on the First side of the resort and Kleine Scheidegg on the other there is a lot to keep the intermediate skier busy.  Männlichen offers some challenging tree-lined red runs.  Kleine Scheidegg is a great area for mixed ability groups an has fabulous views alongside the cog railway.

Advanced

The 12km Lauberhorn world cup run is a must for advanced skiers as is the fearsome and aptly named ‘Oh God 27’ which covers 1.3km with a 71% incline making it one of the toughest runs in the area.  It’s well worth the trip over to Murren for a day for more challenging options including the famous Kanonenrohr.

Snowboarding

On the 'First' side of town snowboarders will find a warm-up park on Oberjoch, plus the ‘White Elements’ terrain park and half pipe at Bärgelegg.
