Snow Conditions in Kaprun

The slopes of Kaprun are mostly found on its glacier, located at an altitude of 3030m. This helps dramatically with snow reliabilty, as the slopes up high generally have excellent snow quality all season long.

In the lower ski area of Maiskogel, snow canditions can vary dramatically. Luckily there are a number of north-facing slopes here that do a great job of preserving snow long after it falls. As you would expect the conditions at the base of 755m are often drastically different to those up high, but any resort with a glacier has an above average snow sure rating.

Is Kaprun snow sure? At higher elevations, especially on the glacier, the snow reliability is excellent. Down low can be more unpredictable, but snow cannons usually take care of the trouble areas.
