Restaurant in La Clusaz

PLACES FOR LUNCH

Most of the restaurants on the mountain are traditional family-run restaurants serving the highest quality homemade food at reasonable prices. There are some great restaurants across the mountains such as Le Bercail at an altitude of around 1450m on the Crêt du Merle. Being an old Savoyard farmhouse, you can be sure that they only sell the best Savoyard dishes, such as the Haute Savoie classic dish, tartiflette. Choose between sitting inside near the fireplace, or outside on the terrace you are sure to have an enjoyable meal! Moving on to a restaurant over towards the Étale area, there is the Telemark Café mountain restaurant that is a great spot to refuel whilst looking out over the panoramic views of the Aravis ski area. With a Scandinavian influence, reflected in its menu, the Telemark Café offers a nice change in cuisine, but be sure to book first to avoid disappointment.

At ‘Le Relais de l’Aiguille’ on the Crêt du Loup you can either eat in the restaurant or at the snack bar. The restaurant isn’t the cheapest in the area by a long way, but the snack bar does serve paninis and hot dogs along with crepes. All this means that you can enjoy the incredible views from the terrace at 1900m! Make sure you reserve a table though, and whilst you are doing that, it is well worth enquiring about their ‘Dinner at Altitude’ – overlooking the beautiful La Clusaz lit up at night.

PLACES FOR DINNER

As far as dining is concerned, with a choice of over sixty restaurants, there really is something to suit every set of taste buds. La Clusaz restaurants range from pizzerias to the more commonplace traditional Savoyard cuisine. Be sure to check out Pizz’Avalanche, a small restaurant that offers great food, service and value for money. La Cordée is an equally affordable option; a restaurant serving traditional cuisine and Savoyard specialities amongst other things. La Cordée is well known for providing great food at attractive prices, and you are sure to get a nice friendly service from staff. Other restaurants that are well worth a try are La Cascade and especially the brand new restaurant specialising in traditional French cuisine, La Fruitiére!

If you are after some fine dining and delicious gourmet food, there are plenty of 5* hotels in town that pride themselves on their ability to offer delightful dishes. One hotel restaurant, in particular, stands out though; ‘Les Rhodos’. This restaurant has a great selection of food in the evening, and whilst being more expensive than some other restaurants in the area, it has some stunning views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding Aravis area - fine dining doesn’t get much finer than here.
