Apres Ski in La Plagne

APRES SKI IN LA PLAGNE

If you're after some nightlife, then La Plagne offers some good choice. Although perhaps not as lively as places like Meribel there are plenty of bars with live music at après ski, happy hours, as well as the Wild West themed bar, Saloon, which is open until 5 am. Plagne Bellcote is just down the piste too if you want to have a beer somewhere different at the end of the day then you can get the bubble lift back up to Belle Plagne, there is plenty of time as the lift is open until 12.45am.

Some other spots to try out include ‘Scotty’s Bar’ in Plagne centre at the bottom of the Stade Olympic run which has a large outdoor area and regularly draws in big crowds with DJ’s and live music taking centre stage. If you feel a little homesick, then the only place to head to is the ‘Spitting Feathers Bar’, an English pub-style bar that will leave you feeling like you have just walked into your local back home. They even play premier league football up on the big screens and other sporting events as well as having three separate happy hours every day. Perhaps the best bit about the Spitting Feathers bar is that you can grab the free minibus back to wherever you are staying in La Plagne.

If none of the above appeals to you and you prefer to have a peaceful après ski without all the loud music which generally comes with it, then be sure to check out ‘La Terrasse’ in the Aime 2000 shopping area. With a more relaxed ambience, this is the preferred après ski bar for the locals and also has TV screens to show some sport.

La Plagne Nightlife

Belle Plagne is certainly the liveliest village in La Plagne. For the real party animals that fancy boogieing the night away to some loud euro pop when the sun goes down, we recommend the Wild West themed Le Saloon. A popular haunt among both seasonaires and tourists, this venue doesn't usually start livening up until around midnight and is then usually alive and kicking until the wee hours.

La Mine Bar in Plagne 1800 is a traditional English pub and perfect for a quiet drink or two. This bar also screens some of the popular European live sporting events and occasionally hosts some live music, whilst Igloo Igloo in Plagne Centre serves some tasty homemade cocktails and often hosts popular DJ’s and live bands. As the name suggests, the bar is igloo themed and as well as being igloo shaped inside, it is also complete with polar bear and penguin models and heavy fur rugs draped over bar stools.

For a relaxed evening then be sure to try out ‘Vins & Un’ in Aime La Plagne which is a wine bar that is open throughout the winter season. With a wide selection of wines, it is a great place to sit and relax after a full day of exploring – keep an eye out for its party piece which is a large wooden Savoyard style bar!
