LES GETS FOR FAMILIES
Les Gets is a fabulous family friendly resort. In the village itself, free shuttle buses and motorised trains mean the streets tend to be car-free, something that adds to the family friendly nature of the area. Les Gets has maintained its rustic and original charm in the shape of traditional chalets and easily-accessible slopes.
Part of the all-encompassing Portes du Soleil ski area, families will love the opportunity for quieter slopes with easier gradients found all over the ski domain. Ski with the kids through tree-lined blues while complete beginners will enjoy the variety of nursery areas available.
CHALET ACCOMMODATION
Les Gets has an excellent range of family-friendly accommodation, good ski schools and a wide range of activities to keep children of all ages busy.
SkiWeekends currently offers one chalet in Les Gets, found in a central location with great access to the shops and slopes. Sleeping between 26 - 38 people, the large Chalet Marjorie offers 3, 4 and 7 night stays with a catered chalet experience with the chance to take the whole chalet with a group of different families.

SKI SCHOOLS
You can book lessons with a variety of different ski schools in Les Gets, each offering slightly different learning methods, aims and objectives. You have the classic ESF, with instructors in most resorts across France; Ski School 360° International, with fully qualified, English-speaking instructors.
We would recommend New Generation Ski and Snowboard school, one of Europe’s most respected coaching institutions. You can book lessons via the Les Gets Ski Schools page.
ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN
While the older children can enjoy the magnificent Portes du Soleil area on skis, the younger kids can go to the nursery or the Snow Garden (3-5 years old). The Mappys area welcomes your toddlers who are new to skiing free of charge.
There’s also a variety of play areas available on the slopes. The little ones will have fun in the Grand Cry Territory and the Cowboys slope, while the older ones will be able to enjoy the Boarder-Cross, the Slalom and the Snowpark.
For different types activities on snow away from skiing, the toboggan runs, the 'Bankids' playground, the skating rink, electric snowmobiles, dog sledding, ski joering all offer new and exciting opportunities for families to play together on the slopes.
You may even be tempted by a snowshoeing outing during your stay in Les Gets, you can either hire a local guide to show you the best areas or, as long as you stay on the marked and especially prepared tracks (see the Les Gets trails guide), you can use them freely and without a guide.
Alta Lumina is an experience from the Lumina series of enchanted nighttime tours, discover a forest lit by spectacular lighting and magical music. In the village of Les Gets, you can follow in the footsteps of a music peddler and his hot air balloon and unravel the story behind his incredible journey across the mountains. Children 4 and under enter free, expect to spend around 55 euros for a family entry (2 adults + 2 children).
