Terrace of apres-skiers

APRES-SKI IN LES MENUIRES

Conveniently clustered right at the bottom of ski runs, many of the terraced bars are ‘ski into’ and often bathed in sunshine. Comparatively, Les Menuires is a little quieter than neighbouring resorts like Meribel and Val Thorens when it comes to Après ski, however, there is still enough going on and the resort itself gives off a very French atmosphere.

A pretty good spot for some Après ski in Les Menuires is at Croissette, where there is an abundance of bars and discos that stay lively until late such as Bar Le Challenge which often has live music and is open until 2 am, or you can join the French in the Moose bar just below it!

Alternatively, if you want to après ski in Val Thorens, a taxi costs roughly 40 euros so this option is also extremely feasible. If you do decide to do this then the Folie Douce in Val Thorens is definitely worth a try, whilst it is smaller than the other Folie Douce in Meribel it most definitely makes up for it with its buzzing atmosphere!

Les Menuires Nightlife

There are several bars to enjoy yourselves in and around Les Menuires and other than the bars already mentioned for a spot of après ski (which normally stay open until late anyway!) there is a good choice available to those who consider themselves wine or beer connoisseurs…

Let’s start with Le Kube which is a piano bar with a cosy lounge until 10 pm, and turns into more of a bar or pub atmosphere from 10 pm until 2 am with a pool table and a cocktail list with so much choice it may well give you a headache before you even touch any alcohol! Le Kube often has live music which kicks off at around 5.30pm and then DJ sets from 10 pm onwards which means you are more than likely to catch some form of entertainment whilst you are there!

There is also a lovely wine bar called the ‘Cave des Belleville’ which is also worth a try open from 5pm-9.30pm in the evenings. Finally, for the party animals looking to use the ‘Sprinkler’ dance move to best effect, there is ‘Le Leerberty’ which is open from 5 pm to 5 am throughout the winter is the perfect spot. With reasonably priced drinks and a good mix of music, you are bound to have a good time. Do remember that Val Thorens is just a short taxi drive away if you want a larger selection of bars and clubs to wet your whistle!
