ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS IN MERIBEL
If the vast amount of skiing on offer isn’t for you then don’t worry as Méribel has far more to offer than just super skiing. That’s right, with the Parc Olympique de Méribel having been a host to the Olympic Ice Hockey back in the day, Méribel is now home to a brilliant ice rink where you can regularly catch a local game of Ice Hockey or have a go skating round yourself. It is also home to an indoor swimming pool which is open throughout the winter season, a fitness centre which is also open throughout the winter, a climbing wall and a wellness area and spa.
Also located in the Olympic centre is a sports bar ‘Bowling le Canadien’ which is home to a games arcade, several pool tables and some bowling alleys which opens at 4 pm and stays open until 1 am, though on a bad weather day it tends to open around 11 am.
Some of the other activities you can enjoy around Méribel are overnight refuge trips, hiking trails, horse-sleigh tours, ice climbing, snowmobiling, parapente (including trips that fly right over the Folie Douce during après ski!), tobogganing and snake gliss and much more. For those glum days in the mountains then there is a cinema in Mottaret and for those nice days, pedestrians can buy a lift pass that will allow them to get around the mountains and try out the various hiking trails.
