Morzine for families
Morzine has a fantastic reputation as a family friendly resort. Although it isn’t a car-free resort like it’s sister Avoriaz, Morzine does have a pedestrianised town-centre that often features a popular ice-skating rink, the same square also hosts a variety of entertainment and musical acts on stage throughout the winter.
Along with the family-friendly ski area that features plenty of greens and blues, Morzine is also home to a number of great ski schools, a wide range of accommodation to suit a family’s needs, and a variety of other activities to keep the children busy, both on and off the slopes.
CHALET ACCOMMODATION
SkiWeekends currently offers one chalet in Morzine, found in an excellent location close to the Prodains lift (with ideal access to Avoriaz). Sleeping between 10 - 13 people, Chalet Tavernier offers 3, 4 and 7 night stays with a catered chalet experience.

SKI SCHOOLS
You can book lessons with a variety of different ski schools in Morzine, each offering slightly different learning methods, aims and objectives. You have the classic ESF, with instructors in most resorts across France; The Snow Institute, a well-established British Ski School; Mint Snowboard School is also an option if the kids want to try a board instead of skis.
We would recommend New Generation Ski and Snowboard school, one of Europe’s most respected coaching institutions. You can book lessons via the Morzine Ski Schools page.
ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN
On the slopes you’ll find plenty of ways to keep the kids entertained. At the top of the Pleney lift you’ll find The Penguin Park filled with new modules and games to keep little ones excited about skiing! As you head down towards the village of Morzine explore the Chemin de Zouzous, a special animal piste on a quiet track through the forest where you can spot statues of local wildlife.
For different types of sliding on snow, designated sledging areas ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for children. These areas are typically separate from skiing and snowboarding zones and staff often supervise these areas to ensure safety.
