What Do We Love About Skiing In Norway?
Looking for somewhere to go with for the family holidays? Well then, Scandinavia, or more specifically Norway, is the perfect place to visit, with something for everyone!
Some resorts in Norway, such as Trysil, have been hosting events and races for the last 150 years and have a rich history. This has built a series of friendly bustling resorts across Norway. These resorts are filled with activities, such as husky dog sledging, horse carriage rides and bowling, which makes them perfect for families - there is plenty to entertain you all!
One of the popular activities to get involved with is night skiing. From November to February the days are short and it becomes dark quickly, to combat this the slopes are lined with flood lights so those ski enthusiasts can continue into the night! It may seem unappealing to begin with but it is an experience like no other, skiing down slopes lit only by orange lights with darkness beyond that, it's magical.
Norway is never very busy meaning families can visit during holidays while avoiding the heaving crowds found in the Alps and have full access to the super friendly ski instructors who speak perfect English.
ski weekends resorts in Norway:
While Norwegian resorts are not the most lively in terms of Apres-ski, they are perfect for family breaks. There are activities for everyone and resorts like Trysil are focused on children, with hotels that have swimming pools and even a wave machine in one! Even the slopes are family friendly, with black runs and blue runs crossing over or running near each other, meaning big groups can stay together no matter their ability level. The ski runs are never busy so those new to skiing can practice their wide turns with little disturbance, a perfect place for perfect holidays!
