PISTE MAP

SKI Area

  • Great access to the entire 4 Mountains ski area, and glacier skiing available on the Dachstein Glacier.

  • Stunning scenery of surrounding mountain peaks - especially from the higher slopes.

  • An extensive ski area with plenty of cruisy blues and reds for intermediates.

  • Modern, efficient lift system throughout.

The Ski Amade area ranges from a base level altitude of 745m in Schladming to a high of 2015m and attracts skiers and snowboarders looking for some different terrain and quieter slopes in the Austrian alps.

Schladming sits at the base of Planai, and is central to the 4 mountain system.

Take a look below at our breakdown to find out more information relevant to your ability:

Advanced

Black runs are few and far between, but you'll find them at the top and bottom of Hauser Kaibling, a few on Reiteralm and a couple towards the bottom of Planai

Intermediates

Plenty of pistes for you to play on! If you’re a higher end intermediate, then the abundance of red runs should provide a suitable challenge however there are also plenty of blues, especially on Hauser Kaibling (piste 8 starts from the very top at 2,015m!).

Beginners

Whether you’re just starting to link your turns or you haven’t even mastered a snow plough, beginners are well catered for in Schladming with a selection of family areas and nice pistes to learn on. You needn’t worry about the snow cover either as there is plenty of snow cannons to ensure a consistent cover.

Snowboarders

Don't get too excited by the terrain on offer. Schladming is no St. Anton, but it does offer varied terrain.

Off Piste*

Schladming is not normally chosen as a destination for off-piste skiers and, in the main ski area above the resort, leaving the marked piste is positively discouraged. However, a heli-skiing company operates here if you fancy something different. High-altitude snow-sure skiing is possible on the adjoining Dachstein Glacier, reached by cable-car from Turlwand. Horsefeathers Superpark on the glacier is one of the largest snowboard parks in the Alps.

*Ski Weekends strongly advise that off piste skiing should only be undertaken when in the company of a professional ski instructor or guide
